Caleb Schroeder, MD, FACS
Dr. Schroeder has a special interest in medical education and is a strong advocate of recruitment for rural medicine. He participates in medical education projects for students from grade school through college, as well as being the preceptor for the general surgery rotation for UNMC residents and physician assistant students. Dr. Schroeder has always strived to gain new insight and knowledge to better serve his patients. He believes that the process of learning new techniques affords him a wide range of expertise to push his practice to the forefront of the surgical arena. He has presented his research about patient comfort during colonoscopies at the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He also acts as a reviewer for scientific journals.
Dr. Schroeder provides service for a variety of general surgery procedures. He performs surgery to address diseases of the gallbladder, breast, skin, lymph nodes, skin cancer, wound care, hemorrhoids, small and large bowel. He performs a variety of laparoscopic procedures, as well as colonoscopies and upper endoscopies.
He offers services at Mary Lanning Hospital, Hastings Surgical Center, Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, and Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva.
As a husband and father of two children, he is honored to provide surgical care for the community. He enjoys watching sports, the outdoors, and exercising.

Jared Dietze, MD
Dr. Dietze is a member of the American College of Surgeons and is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
He graduated from Hastings High School, earned his Bachelor of Science degree from University of Nebraska Lincoln and his Medical Degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha in 2017. He completed his general surgery residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2022.
Dr. Dietze provides service for a variety of general surgery procedures. He performs surgery to address diseases of the gallbladder, breast, skin cancer, wound care, hemorrhoids, small and large bowel, and hernia repair. He performs a variety of laparoscopic procedures, as well as colonoscopies and upper endoscopies.
He offers services at Mary Lanning Hospital and Hastings Surgical Center.
Growing up in Hastings, Dr. Dietze is pleased to return and provide excellent surgical care for Central Nebraska communities. When he is not with his patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife, playing disc golf and board games, 3D printing, and exploring the great outdoors.
